Qualaroo supports Opt-Out and Do Not Track, which allow your end users to decline cookie tracking.
Qualaroo Opt-Out
In order to Opt-Out of Qualaroo cookie tracking, you can provide your users with Qualaroo’s dedicated opt-out URL: qualaroo.com/opt-out.
You can decide how best to administer the URL, but we recommend using Markdown to hyperlink to the Opt-Out URL. We have provided a helpful example of what the text and hyperlink within the nudge look like below:
Once your user navigates to the Opt-Out URL, they will be prompted with the opportunity to click on the “Disable Qualaroo” button. This will set a cookie called “DNT=1” on qualaroo.com which will be detected by our JavaScript via 3rd-party cookies.
Once the Opt-Out is enabled, Qualaroo will no longer store the anonymous ID associated with responses on the users browser. Surveys will continue to display as normal.
Please note that clearing your cookies, running in incognito/private mode, or using a different browser will enable tracking again.
Do Not Track
Qualaroo also supports the Do Not Track option available in most modern browsers. We have detailed how to enable Do Not Track for each supported browser:
Chrome
PC and Mac: Click the “Tools” menu, represented by the icon with three horizontal lines on the upper right-hand side of the Chrome window, and then click Settings. At the bottom of the Settings page, click Advanced Settings. At the bottom of the page, a “Privacy” heading appears. Under the Privacy heading, check the box next to “Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic.” Click OK to activate DNT.
Safari
On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on Preferences. Navigate to the Privacy tab, then check or uncheck the box labeled Website tracking: “Ask websites not to track me.”
