How to Target Visitors by Geographical Location
If you wish to limit the survey’s visibility to specific countries, regions, states, or cities, use the advanced targeting feature to direct the survey toward those locations. Qualaroo utilizes IP addresses to ascertain the location of visitors.
- You are a product manager at an online travel agency that offers flight and hotel bookings. You want to improve your website’s user experience and conversion rate by collecting feedback from your visitors. You decide to use Qualaroo to create and launch surveys on your website.
- You want to target your surveys by location because you have different regional offers and promotions. For example, you have a special discount for flights from Los Angeles to London, and you want to show a survey to visitors from LA who are searching for flights to London. You also want to hide your surveys in specific locations where you don’t operate or have low demand.
Targeting visitors by geographical location can:

To target a single location
Step 1: On the TARGETING page, click to expand Who > Advanced.
Step 2: Select the “Visitors in certain geographic locations” checkbox.
Step 3:
- Ensure that the "Show" option is selected.
- Click on the box next to Add location. Select country, state, and city in the given order.
- Click on the “+” button to finish adding.
Your added location will be displayed to you like this:
To target multiple locations
After adding one location,
Step 1: Click on the box next to the Add location text. Select country, state, and city in the given order.
Step 2: Click on the “+” button to finish adding.
Your survey will now be targeted at visitors in the selected locations.
To exclude a location
Step 1: Go to the TARGETING section.
Step 2: Select the “Visitors in certain geographic locations” checkbox under Who > Advanced.
Step 3: Select “Do not show” from the drop-down.
Step 4: Add the location(s) to exclude and click the Add (+) button.
Your survey will not show up to visitors in your targeted area.
